Terms of Service

1. Definitions

• “Content” means any text, images, photos, videos/clips, audio, links, event details, comments, reactions, usernames, profiles, and other material.
• “User Content” means Content you submit or make available through the Service, including posts, pinned boards, comments, event listings, and reports.
• “Pinned Boards” means user-created boards used to collect, pin, organize, or feature posts or items within the Service.
• “Groups” means communities organized by focus areas that users may join or leave.
• “Events” means group-based gatherings posted in the Service that may include time/date, a physical address, and/or external participation links for digital meetings.
• “External Links” means URLs or integrations that take you outside the Service to third-party sites or services.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must comply with applicable laws and these Terms. You agree that information you provide is accurate and that you will keep your account information updated. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. The Service and Community Features

The Service may allow users to:

• Create posts (including photos and video clips) and pinned boards.
• Join and leave groups at any time.
• Like and comment on posts and boards (subject to restrictions, safety systems, and settings).
• Create and join events within groups, including adding physical addresses and/or external links for digital participation.
• Receive notifications and configure reminder notifications for groups and events.
• Report posts, boards, and other content; and delete their own posts (subject to technical limitations and legal retention).

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including features, functionality, or availability, with or without notice, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

4. User Content, Ownership, and License

4.1 Your ownership

As between you and Aligno, you retain any rights you may have in your User Content, subject to the license you grant below and any rights of third parties (e.g., music, images, trademarks).

4.2 License you grant to Aligno

You grant Aligno a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, cache, reproduce, distribute, display, perform, publish, adapt (for formatting/technical delivery), and otherwise use your User Content solely as necessary to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service, including moderation, safety review, and enforcing policies.

4.3 Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that: (a) you have all necessary rights to post it; (b) it does not violate law or the rights of any person; and (c) it complies with these Terms and Platform Policies.

5. Conduct Rules (No Loopholes)

You agree not to:

• Post or facilitate illegal activity, violence, threats, harassment, hate, sexual exploitation, or content involving minors in any sexual context.
• Post content that is defamatory, invasive of privacy, or that violates intellectual property rights.
• Spam, manipulate engagement, impersonate others, misrepresent affiliations, or attempt to bypass enforcement.
• Upload malware, scrape the Service, reverse engineer, or interfere with security or operations.
• Use the Service to organize or promote dangerous activities or to target individuals or groups for abuse.

6. Groups and Events — Assumption of Risk

6.1 Joining/leaving is your choice

You may join or leave groups at your discretion. Participation is voluntary. Group content, including events and external links, is user-generated and may not be reviewed before being posted.

6.2 Events and external links

Events may include physical addresses and/or External Links. You are responsible for verifying event details, your safety, and the suitability of attending. Aligno does not control third-party sites/services and is not responsible for their content, security, or practices. Your use of External Links is at your own risk.

6.3 No background checks

Aligno does not conduct background checks on users and makes no representations about user identity, conduct, or suitability.

7. Reporting, Moderation, and Enforcement

Users may report posts, pinned boards, and other content. We may (but are not required to) review reports and take action, including removing content, reducing distribution, limiting features, issuing warnings, restricting accounts, suspending, or banning. Enforcement decisions may be based on automated signals, human review, and contextual assessment.

We may preserve content and associated data as reasonably necessary for safety, compliance, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and enforcement, even if a user deletes content.

8. Account Standing and Restrictions

Your account may be placed into different standing levels (e.g., good standing, warning, restricted, suspended, banned). Restrictions may include disabling the ability to post, comment, like, create events, or message. Standing may be shown in-app.

9. Notifications

The Service may send push notifications related to groups, content, reminders, safety, and account activity. You can manage certain notification preferences within the app and/or your device settings. Notification delivery is not guaranteed.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, interfaces, features, and software, is owned by Aligno and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access at any time for any reason, including policy violations, safety risks, legal compliance, or to protect the Service and users, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aligno disclaims all warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Aligno does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content will be accurate or reliable.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Aligno will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.
• Aligno will not be liable for losses arising from user interactions, events, physical meetups, external links, or third-party services.
• Aligno’s total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to Aligno for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $100 if you paid nothing.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Aligno and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms or Platform Policies; or (d) your violation of any law or third-party rights.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised Terms to the maximum extent permitted by law.
